I met the most amazing girl today… or woman… or lady? I think she was surprisingly the rare combination of all three with that special twist that I’ve always looked for, but have never been able to pinpoint. Her name was… her name… I don’t remember… this could be bad. It’s certainly embarrassing.
I still have to talk to Aaron about where I came from. I hope there’s some people left in the world I came from that are looking for me. Hopefully the place really exists, however, I’m beginning to enjoy life here a lot more. Maybe there’s a way to connect the two worlds.
I could totally go for some pizza at the moment…

2127 (EST)

The next few days though are going to be devoted to remembering that girl’s name. I see her everyday at the Vermillion Building, but I finally spoke to her today at least.
Anyhoo, I should go get that pizza. I’ll talk to Aaron in a few days as well and find out about these “other worlds.

EPUB file type

Well, I’ve had a friend of mine purchase an eBook from Lulu.com that he wasn’t able to open. I did some investigation on that and found out that the file type for my eBooks is a .epub file. So, if you happen to purchase one of my ebooks, and are having trouble opening it, that might be why. Let me know if any of you are having problems accessing the files. I’ll be able to fix that on a case by case basis.

Upon returning to the Vermillion parking lot I have realized that I locked my keys in the car… I’m relaxing by the fountain in the lobby at the moment. It’s very strange… they have stuffed animals with headsets sitting behind a large square pavilion in the center of the room. What’s stranger is that some of the people here actually converse with them as if they were talking back.
It’s takin’ awhile for security to get down here. I wanna go home. I’m in the mood to lazy around, drink, and have sex all day, but I haven’t met anyone since I died… or… was revived? I still don’t know. Maybe I’ll just ask on of the council members whether I’m dead or alive next time I see them.
I’m havin’ a thought that this ‘apocalypse’ stuff that everyone keeps talkin’ about is gonna end up like the whole ‘Y2K’ ordeal from back home… we’ll see.

Just got back to the apartment a moment ago. I ran into the super hero Mini-T today. He’s a bit of an arrogant prick in person, but he’s definitely a comedian. He seems like he got used to the cynicism as fertile comedy grounds for his demeanor. We talked for a moment at the bistro, and he welcomed me to the organization and gave me an autographed photo of himself. He told me to frame it on my wall, and that if I looked up to him every day I’d do much better in life or some bullshit like that. I get to head back up to the Vermillion Building again tomorrow to pick up a Vermillion Handbook, and sign a couple of papers for payroll.
Anyway, I see various people and a lot of them look strikingly similar to people I used to know. At least… I think I knew them, granted that the life I remember living up to now was the real world. This might be the real world, and I may just have amnesia. I don’t know… because I can’t quite recall every detail from the other world yet either.
President Brown made a statement today mentioning something about the government working with the Vermillion Corporation in order to come up with some way to avoid the apocalypse that everyone’s been talking about. Dr. Striker from Vermillion’s research and development mentioned a new device called a Retro Booth. It’s supposed to be able to travel backwards through time, but not forward. He said they had a few kinks to work out such as placing the planet on the right orbit so as not to crash into our past selves… I just think it’s a retarded idea to begin with. Dr. Freddy, Dr. Striker’s assistant, is working on an anti-planet shield for when they send us back in time. That’s just as retarded, if not worse! He said they were going to test it first. How are they going to pull that off!? We only have the one planet!
I don’t understand a lot about this organization yet… but something about it seems slightly familiar. Somehow it’s both disconcerting and oddly comforting at the same time.

I have officially joined the Vermillion Organization as an L9 Squire and am to begin my training next Tuesday. I went before the inner council today for my interview and they all seemed pretty laid back for being the heads of such a huge establishment. They also seem to be fairly eccentric as well. I mean, they were playing hacky-sack in the middle of a job interview… odd, but I must admit I had fun.
Now, for those of you who know me… if you ever get a chance to read this, that is. Hopefully it makes its way home if I don’t. Anyway, you may ask yourselves “Why would he of all people join the army?” The answer is simple: Apocalypse. I’ve been hearing a whole bunch of rumors about how this year through 2020 is supposed to be some sort of crazy demon filled apocalypse. We’ve had prophecies and stuff like that from the world I came from before, but none were taken so seriously that any multi-billion dollar company took armed measures or trained its own army.
I met a man the other day. He was the same height as myself with blond hair, was kinda gangly, and grungy too. He wore sunglasses, carried a kendo stick on his back, and was smoking a cigarette that never shortened. I think he’s a man at least… he may be much more than just human, but anyway, he gave me a proposal to join the Vermillion community. Vermillion promises to protect mankind from the impending apocalypse. They DO have the Vermillion Alliance, which is a group of super-heroes banded together to protect Earth, so I figure it might be possible.
Where I came from the planet was much duller. It was still Earth, however, we never had super heroes, or large organizations that wielded such colossal power doing good deeds (as far as I knew). The people in general were far worse as well. Liars, cheaters, killers, whores, criminal syndicates, and sick, demented psychos ran rampant, while innocent people were jailed, mugged, raped, and murdered on a daily basis. Maybe it was just the region I lived in… who knows? The only thing I know for sure anymore is that I was shot in the back of the head, and I woke up in the Vermillion hospital in this world without a scratch on me. I still have memories of the place I came from… I’m sure it exists. Hopefully one day I’ll find out more.
That man, Mr. Strent, said something about me fulfilling my ultimate potential. I want to know what he meant by that. He left before I had a chance to ask.
Anyhoo, I supposed I should take a shower and sleep. I feel as though I have a huge day ahead of me… good night!

New from Vermillion Books

Greetings everyone! Hope all is well! Lately I’ve been typing away adamantly at finishing book 5 of the series. The editing process for the next two books is coming along decently as well. I’ve begun a new project exploring a different consciousness of the Aaron Strent character within the multiverse that is Vermillion. I will be posting excerpts of the new material soon. Just so you know it’s called Memoirs of a Vermillion Soldier, and aside from being published in this blog, I don’t believe I will release it as its own short story.

The new line of story follows Aaron Strent re-awakening as a weaker, younger version of himself in the Vermillion world, after having been murdered in the world he previously came from. He encounters the older, more experienced Aaron Strent who sets him on the path he needs to find out what happened to him in the previous world, who he is now, and where to go from there. I hope you enjoy these snippets as we continue to move closer to a release date for book 3: Shh! He Is Legend!

Is anybody even seeing these posts? The internet machine keeps telling me that they’re making it through to Twitter and Facebook, but I’m a little skeptical. Oh well… either way, eBooks for sale! Go for it 🙂

Until then, here’s a series update! I’ve gotten through with editing the first half of the next part of the series “Shh! He is Legend!”, and started doing some editing on book 4 “Playing God” as well. I’ve got an artist signed on to work on pictures for the 4th book, but still need someone to work on book 3 with me. I’m debating on releasing book three before I originally intended, but I’m still not entirely sold on that idea, yet. I’m gonna need more support for that.

Haven’t really done any writing since I’ve returned from Boston though. Maybe I’ll get to some new stuff this week… or I know, I’ll start posting excerpts finally! I just remembered I was going to do some of that on here. More to come soon

Oh hey, a button! :)

Marketing… how do?

Ok, so I’ve got 2 great products(eBooks specifically), both geared toward an audience of older teens-middle aged adults. First and foremost, it’s comedy. The “sci-fi, fantasy” part is just where the funny happens to be taking place. I’ve got a blog, a forum, two facebooks, and a twitter, and could use a little help finding a way to get this out into mainstream internet to catch the attention of people who actually have eReaders like the Kindles&Nooks. This is a task I know VERY little about how to accomplish.

Ok, that having been announced, I’ve started editing for book#3 of the Vermilion Series: “Shh! He is Legend!”. It will cover the back story of Tsakari Ketetsai, The Legendary All-Around Dude of Some Sort, as well as the mysteriously, and conveniently timed captain of the spaceship Letoh, Zek Kantaro. The story also delves further into the mystery of “Who and what is the Vermillion Organization?”

More to come of course, and soon.

Moving along

Alright, all that’s taken care of. the next thing I’ve got on the list for the series is editing through Book 3 and finding an artist for it. I’ve got the forum re-colored and ready to be seen by human eyes… lol. It used to be bright red with lime green text… it was awful. I darkened it up and brought it close to matching kind of what I have set up here as far as a color scheme.

Why don’t I stop trying to describe it and just leave a link? That sounds better actually. http://nokokao.proboards.com/

Feel free to register and open up a thread. I’m still getting things going, but let me know what you think of the set up. 🙂
